In high-density urban markets like Hong Kong, optimizing space is both an architectural and financial imperative. For the new auditorium at the Cyberport technology complex, designed by Rocco Design Architects, the technical challenge was clear. The facility required a large seating capacity, but it could not block the floor’s square footage once events concluded.
To guarantee this versatility, Figueras designed a dual space with 362 seats. In the first room, the Mutasub system allows 182 seats to be concealed beneath the raised floor, leaving a completely flat surface. In the adjacent space, the remaining 180 seats are structured across three independent telescopic tribunes. Dividing the seating into three modular blocks facilitates their movement and storage using transport trolleys, drastically simplifying maintenance operations compared to a single large-scale structure.
Both rooms were aesthetically unified by integrating the ultra-compact Minispace 5069 seat. The result is a facility that the operations team can clear in minutes, ensuring the continuous profitability of the venue.
