Furniture design for cultural spaces has the unique ability to convey a venue’s identity at a single glance. On Tuesday, April 21st, this was showcased on national television during the premiere of “Cara al Show,” the new late-night talk show on laSexta hosted by Marc Giró. Figueras was part of this highly anticipated debut, providing four Gaudí seats for the opening segment of the night.
The integration of the seating addressed a very specific visual requirement for the production. The goal of the opening block was to recreate the classic atmosphere and prestige of a VIP opera box. To achieve this immersion, the show’s team seated the first guests of the format, David and Jose Muñoz from the band Estopa, alongside journalist Jordi Évole and the host himself in our chairs.
This model was deliberately chosen for its unmistakable theatrical aesthetic. The Gaudí seat is the result of a Made to Measure (MtM) engineering project, originally conceived to respect and enhance the architecture of the historic Romea Theatre in Barcelona, where it has equipped the iconic stalls for years.
The fact that an element designed for a classic theater has become the centerpiece of a contemporary television set highlights the value of creating solutions with a distinct identity. For the entire Figueras team, seeing our engineering in prime time supporting key figures in culture and communication is a great source of pride. It confirms that when design is executed with rigor to solve the needs of a space, the result becomes an icon capable of adapting to any stage.
