Le Chesnay, FRANCE

Église de Jésus-Christ des Saints des Derniers Jours

Description

The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, located in Le Chesnay, is the first Mormon temple in France. The temple is arranged into eight main rooms, each of which has a specific function. Two of these rooms have been equipped with a total of 76 generously sized and comfortable Figueras seats, especially designed for this project. The design of the side panels of the seats at the end of row reproduces the ornamental elements of the frieze around the room. Although the same model of seat is used throughout, the high quality seats with fine details differ in each of the rooms in the upholstery used, with fabrics which have been chosen in different colours and patterns. Bearing in mind that the seats are in spaces dedicated to prayer, they have all have been equipped with the Figueras’ CSRT (Controlled Soft Rise Technology) system. Thus, when the seat is vacated, it returns to its initial position completely silently without disturbing other members of the church in attendance.
