SMOLYAN PLANETARIUM

Planetarium Smolyan

The Bulgarian town of Smolyan is already enjoying its renovated planetarium. Located in the centre of the town, the original building opened its doors in 1975, and since then, the town has boasted two domed buildings: the church and the planetarium. The dome of the planetarium is easily identifiable from any point as it is the largest planetarium in the country and, of course, the preferred activity for visitors to this town. Indeed, in 2005, this planetarium was included in the list of the top 100 tourist attractions in Bulgaria, which has received more than three million visitors in recent years.

The activity par excellence is the observation of stars and planets, which can be done from its Star Hall. This hall features Figueras’s most successful seat for planetariums, from which viewers can comfortably recline and watch the space display on the dome-shaped screen. The 98 seats, arranged in curved rows, have backs slightly tilted backward, ranging from 30 to 45 degrees depending on the position of the seat in the hall. This inclination allows users to easily look up at the screen without compromising their comfort.

At Figueras, we love creating spaces that enhance the visual experience of users. Our seats are designed to ensure that each visitor enjoys a comfortable and immersive experience.
