Barcelona has inaugurated a new library specialized in digital culture and equipped with innovative technology. OP Team Arquitectura designed the library for BIMSA, which is conceived as a cultural and relational hub fostering learning and co-creation. The basement features a 212-seat auditorium.
They chose a retractable seating system combined with the Mutawheel seating system to provide versatility and flexibility and maximize the space’s use.
The selected seat model is the Microflex 6061, a foldable chair with geometric lines and one of the most compact models in the Figueras portfolio, occupying only 24 cm when folded.
This combination of Figueras’ movable seating solutions allows the auditorium to be fully open within minutes while also enabling flexible capacity configurations tailored to each specific event. Additionally, we supplied the stage platforms, which allow for multiple stage configurations, adapting seamlessly to the needs of each activity.
