On September 17, Roca Barcelona Gallery will host a new session of “Architecture Music · Musicians Architects“, the series organized by Roca and Figueras Seating that explores the relationship between architecture, music, and the performing arts, now celebrating its sixth season.
Titled “Variations…”, the session will bring together professionals from architecture and music to present three contemporary projects connected to cultural and performing spaces: the renovation of the Sant Jordi Club in Barcelona, the Girona Auditorium and Congress Centre, and the transformation of the former Philips manufacturing complex into Espai Graner.
Three approaches to cultural space architecture
Much like musical variations, the session outlines three distinct approaches to architecture and its relationship with urban context, heritage, music, and the performing arts:

Jorge Vidal Studio will present the renovation project of the Sant Jordi Club, developed alongside Parisian firm Bruther in Barcelona’s Olympic area.

Manel Bosch will share the design and construction process of the Girona Auditorium and Congress Centre, completed alongside Jordi Bosch and Joan Tarrús.

Maite Hernando and Sara Galmán will present the transformation of the former Philips factory complex into Espai Graner, a center dedicated to dance, artistic creation, and body movement.
Three projects with distinct contexts and requirements that showcase diverse perspectives on architecture shaped by culture and the performing arts.
Architecture and music: a dialogue in its sixth season
Curated by architect Félix Arranz, the session will conclude with an intimate recital by Nicolás Coll Leclerc, musician and future architect, featuring a repertoire inspired by the theme of the day: variations.
With this upcoming event, “Architecture Music · Musicians Architects” enters its sixth season. Jointly organized by Roca and Figueras Seating, the series rotates across Roca Galleries in Barcelona, Madrid, and London, providing a dedicated forum for dialogue and collaboration between two closely linked disciplines.
