The new auction hall of the Fish Market at the Port of Barcelona has been equipped with 56 Arena seats by Figueras Seating, a model specifically chosen for its durability, functionality, and compact design. This installation meets the demands of a high-use space, with up to two fish auctions per day, and is exposed to changing environmental conditions typical of a port setting.
Made from polypropylene copolymer, the Arena model stands out for its resistance to wear and tear and ease of maintenance, without compromising the comfort required for continuous use. Its versatile design allows for an orderly and efficient row layout, optimizing the available space and giving the hall a clean, contemporary look.
The project, developed by architects Carlos Ferrater, Lucía Ferrater (OAB studio), and Jesús Coll, has been awarded the Premi Ciutat de Barcelona, and represents a new way of understanding the relationship between functionality and design in public spaces.
Our contribution reinforces the practical and modern character of the installation, aligned with our commitment to delivering durable seating solutions tailored to each environment.
