2023 07 27 Lagos National Theater n00
Currently undergoing a total renovation, and restoration after 45 years after its initial opening

The Lagos National Theatre, which is considered the primary cultural and artistic centre of Nigeria, is currently undergoing a total renovation, and restoration after 45 years after its initial opening. This is being sponsored by the Bankers Committee through their subsidiary SANEF Creatives.

The current project redevelopment involves the comprehensive renovation and restoration of the building, resulting in its realigning as an internationally recognized Arts Theatre and Entertainment and Creative Centre. In addition to showcasing the performing arts, the restored complex will serve as a focal point for other upcoming developments within its environs.

ECAD Architects is the responsible architecture studio overseeing this notable renovation with Structural Engineers MOA, M&E Engineers CA and Quantity Surveyors Dufranc, with Project Managers Alitheia & Lateral Design Concept.

C&D are the main contractors, with Figueras Seating proudly contributing over 5,000 seats to be distributed between the main theater and the annex cinemas. The projected work completion date is imminent, and we anticipate commencing work on the installation of the seating and movable systems shortly.
