The stadiums of Rabat, fully operational during the CAF, confirm their readiness for major sporting events

Throughout December and January, Morocco’s primary stadiums hosted a packed schedule of matches for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations. This period put the city’s infrastructure to the test, proving its ability to meet the highest operational and technical demands for top-tier sporting events.

In this context, Figueras Seating—under the leadership of ANEP, in close collaboration with architects Populous and El Kenfaoui Noureddin, and in partnership with Maroc Bureau, among others—played a key role in equipping three of Rabat’s most important venues: the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, the Moulay El Hassan Stadium, and the Olympic Stadium.

This highly complex project required precise planning, high-level coordination, and technical solutions capable of ensuring reliability, durability, and comfort under intensive use. These efforts have positioned these venues among the world’s top-ranking stadiums.

The project involved fully equipping all areas of the venues, following FIFA recommendations and categories for the 2030 World Cup. Figueras managed the installation for general seating, Hospitality Lounges and Skyboxes, outdoor press areas, VIP and VVIP boxes, the press room, and pitch-side benches. To meet the specific requirements of each area, the team combined cutting-edge solutions with iconic Figueras models. Chronos and Onik were chosen for high-capacity sections to ensure ergonomics and durability, while Top, Megaseat, and Rhombus were selected to guarantee comfort and exclusivity in VIP zones and player benches.

The challenge went beyond technical solutions and delivery times—which earned the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium a Guinness World Record. It also required technical reliability to withstand the region’s environmental conditions and the intensive demands of events on this scale.

More than 110,000 seats were in use during the tournament. This consolidates the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium as a premier infrastructure ready to host top-tier international competitions. The experience gained during this event strengthens Rabat’s position as one of the best-equipped hosts in the world and highlights the importance of seating solutions that guarantee both operational efficiency and a high-quality spectator experience.

The activity in these stadiums reflects a long-term vision focused on future sporting milestones, where the quality and adaptability of infrastructure are key to building a lasting legacy.

At Figueras, we congratulate the organization and all participating teams.
