We are delighted to announce our support for the London Design Biennale, which will be held from the 1st to the 25th of June at Somerset House. This year’s edition, entitled “The Global Game: Remapping Collaborations”, will feature over 40 participants from around the world, presenting their designs and inviting us to reflect on common challenges, all with the aim of showcasing how design can help to improve the world we live in. Spain and Peru will be participating together, with their collaborative audiovisual installation, “Common Vibrations,” which showcases the cultural heritage shared by both countries through the percussive power of the “cajón.”
The installation, produced by Madrid’s Círculo de Bellas Artes, is a collaborative effort involving over 50 students from arts, architecture, and design schools, including SUR, the School of Arts and Artistic Professions of the CBA, the Architecture School of Toledo at Castilla La Mancha University, and the Architecture Department of Santa María de Arequipa Catholics University in Peru. The installation has received support from Acción Cultural Española, the Spanish and Peruvian embassies in the UK, and the Centro Coreográfico María Pagés.
At Figueras, we’re passionate about fostering creativity and innovation. That’s why we’re thrilled to be a part of the London Design Biennale, which provides an exceptional platform for showcasing the arts, design, and architecture to a global audience. Our collaboration with the Spanish and Peruvian pavilions will inspire designers and architects, emphasizing the significance of creative expression in our everyday lives.
It is an honor for us to be part of such a significant event, alongside other designers and architects from around the world.
