In recent days, the residents of the Sarrià – Sant Gervasi district in Barcelona have welcomed a new library. The J.V. Foix Library, inaugurated on February 1, is a modern and technologically advanced facility designed by OP Team Arquitectura, led by architects Xavier Farré, Santi Orteu, and Glòria Piferrer. Specializing in digital culture, this library is not just a place for studying and reading but a true cultural hub that fosters learning, creativity, and collaboration.
One of the most outstanding spaces in the library is the Carme Serrallonga i Calafell Auditorium, located on the lower level. To maximize its versatility, Figueras Seating has implemented an innovative seating system that allows the space to be adapted in just a few minutes, depending on the needs of each event.
Flexibility as a Key Concept
The auditorium is equipped with a telescopic tribune with a seating capacity of 156, complemented by 56 additional seats provided by the Mutawheel mobile seating system. This state-of-the-art system integrates 360-degree retractable wheels, allowing seat rows to be easily repositioned or stored when not in use. Thanks to this combination of mobile seating solutions, the auditorium can be quickly reconfigured to accommodate any type of event, ensuring both comfort and efficiency.

For this project, the Microflex 6061 model was selected—a foldable auditorium seat with a geometric design and compact dimensions. Its minimal footprint makes it a top choice for flexible seating arrangements that optimize space without sacrificing comfort.
