The new headquarters of Banca di Asti, located in Italy’s Piedmont region, is now a reality. The architectural project, led by the Gianni Cavallero architecture studio, lasted five years and involved the complete demolition and subsequent reconstruction of a new building. The primary objective was to preserve the original exterior style while creating a modern and technologically advanced interior. This is the restored and modernized historic building of Canton del Santo, a project carried out entirely by professionals from Asti, strengthening its connection to the local community.
The building, owned by Cassa di Risparmio di Asti, comprises three floors housing several offices, training rooms, and a transformable auditorium of approximately 300 square meters with exceptional acoustic performance, dedicated to staff training. This is where Figueras played a key role: we equipped the auditorium with the Sensó model, and the first two rows with the Mutasub system, which allows seats to be stored beneath the floor, offering flexibility to adapt the space to any event.
Additionally, the choice of seating presented a unique challenge for our engineering team. The Sensó model was used in this system for the first time, requiring a redesign to mount the seats on a bar and integrate them seamlessly into the mechanism.
As Asti’s mayor, Maurizio Rasero, stated in La Voce di Genova: “This auditorium is a real asset for the city (…) because we lacked a high-quality venue for gatherings.” Giorgio Galvagno, president of Banca di Asti, added: “This auditorium can become an important resource for the Asti community.”
